WFLIII Drums is part of a tradition of drum builders that goes back over 100 years. As the only living Ludwig in the drum business today, Bill Ludwig III brought back the craftsmanship and legacy of America’s First Family of drum building.
Started in 2016 with little more than a dream and the experience of over sixty years in the industry, Bill Ludwig III set out to redesign the classic drums of his family’s past using traditional processes for modern drummers.
WFLIII Maple Snare Drums
The WFLIII Maple Snare Drums are refreshingly nuanced and alive, offering the drummer a wide range of tuning options and dynamics for every style of music. Made with a Maple/Poplar/Maple 3 Ply shells, The thin inner and outer plies of choice maple give this snare warmth, musicality, and designer looks, while a thin inner ply of poplar and a set of maple reinforcement rings add focus and crispness.
​WFLIII Drums Aluminum Snare Drum
The WFLIII Aluminum snare Drums are crafted from an 1/8″ of laser-cut aluminum, sensitive and woody when played soft and opens up to a polite bark with a fat bottom end as you play out. This snare handles a wide tuning range, too, which means it serves just about any style of music you throw at it.
WFLIII Drum sets
WFLIII Drum sets feature 3-ply maple/poplar/maple shells that are modeled after the original Ludwig and Ludwig shell design of the past. WFLIII shells are manufactured by Keller using a proprietary WFLIII formula with thinner plies than any other Keller offering. The shells are reinforced using a solid-ply maple ring for added strength.
